Life isn't over at 60

I decided to return to graduate school.   When I finished my Master's degree,  my friend, Linda, said "if either of us decides to go back to school,  I will come over and shoot you, and you can come over and shoot me"   She went back and got her Doctorate, and I didn't shoot her,  so I hope she won't come and shoot me, even though I am sure sometimes in the next year and a half, I might want to be put out of my misery.

I think getting my Doctorate is going to keep me busy and active, well into my 70"s.   I feel good, I am busy, active and working at my clinic full time.   I feel like the older I get,  the wiser I get,  and so I feel like I can do a good job at this program.  I have a lot of experience and cumulative knowledge to draw on.   I may have a little more problems with math and statistics,  but it will come.   I just have to practice the math and epidemiology a little more.

I am learning a lot about computer skills.   I thought I was pretty good at computers,  but I am finding out a lot more that I  need to learn and know.  This will definitely help me in my graduate studies.

  2. Jean, thanks for the insight! I was so worried that at 52 I would be the oldest! But I am so excited to be in a learning environment again. I felt I was asking too many questions and not able to get answers - if that makes sense. Plus I was so isolated that I knew professionally I needed to network to stay on top of things. Plus I really really need to know how to use computers. So this class is helping!
Looking forward to working with you the next year or so.... Bridget
